oh how i long to share of simple shred of me

1.
comply and decay
find death in disarray
march, march, march
into the marshes
harsh badlands
mesmerizing lights
reep blind eyes and intoxicating cries

2.
i float upside down in the air
to see the bottles flood the valley
yesterday, the salt drained from that sea in the hills
and turned to look at the reefs it once chewed upon
disturbed
and vaguely saddened by the loss of a dwelling place
inhabitants grew anxiously aware
that home no longer existed
and heaven was more than a savior away

3.
i laid down to sleep
on a mountain
somewhere around east meeting west
sometime around the passing of the century
i was alone
head melting like an iceberg
bones brittle as hay
"my lover buried my heart in a coma
i'll praise the stars if he ever returns"

4.
the ocean walked on itself
as if to say:
"im yelling at you with _________
and you just arent paying attention!"

5.
she stood on the shore
as the sails and anchors were lifted
on the ship in the bay
with a crumpled heart
she prayed
and wondered
if her anchor would ever cast anchor in that harbor again
